She is so funny! The only problem w/ her watching birds is that every so often, she catches one. However, she almost never kills it, but instead, maims it permanently and we have to put it out of it's misery
:( :( :( :( :(

If she catches a rodent, though, she kills it immediately, so you can see her instinctive genes coming through. she recently saw the bunny that comes in our yard, too. It was insane how excited she got! I really hope she doesn't find it and catch it! :fear:

Thanks for the compliment! She's in good shape--we only feed her organic locally milled food and she gets exercise. She is larger than I thought she would get, and she used to show her ribs more, but she is very muscular. :)

suvi is a big girl too... maybe it's in their genes :D
i had a bout 6 or 7 rats when suvi came in to my life, and they used to roam free in the apartment during the day, and not once did suvi touch them or chase them :police:.
i could even leave suvi alone in the apartment with the rats, and she still wouldn't do anything.
but the rats were already there when little puppy suvi moved in, and i don't even know how many rat shows i've dragged her to; i think the first one she went to was when she was only 10 weeks old... so i guess she knew from an early age that rats (and everythihg else that has legs or wings) were off limits :aww:

That is totally amazing!!!!! Suvi is awesome! I could never trust Laika with a small animal. Even when she is just playing (like she tries to do with toads in our yard), she inadvertently hurts them. She doesn't understand her own strength!

i saw this documentary on sally mann a while back, and she has greyhounds roaming all over on her big property... and the film crew actually shot one of the 'hounds running across a field like a crazy happy lunatic with a chicken stuffed in her mouth (also one of sally manns' )
and sally mann was all "oooh look at her go! awww she caught one of our chickens! good girl!" :D
